In autumn, spring and winter
In many ways Cassagnal is even more perfect in Autumn, Spring and winter.
In Spring the many fruit trees are covered with blossom and the woods and fields immpossible green and bursting with flowers and wildlife. The birds are particularly vocal and we have often sat on our terrace on a spring evening in April, eating a meal listening to the nightingale singing in the hedgerow.
In Autumn the heat of the summer usually lingers lazily on, and the peaceful fertility of this area lends itself to long lazy afternoons sitting in the rich rays of the harvest sun.
Winter here is shorter than in the UK, but can be harsh: glorious days with brilliant blue skies and winter sunshine are perfect for walking in, rounded off with an evening cosily in front of the log burner.
